The Rules of the North
1) The biggest rule in GOT is to have FUN. This being said, OOC drama between players is not tolerated. What this means is a 3 strike rule. 1st is just a warning, 2nd is written, 3rd is a banned. The individuals involved will be met with, and the situation is either resolved or the players involved will be banned. Drama puts a kink into the fun of IC'ly roleplay and we are all adults, please we ask you to resolve all situations without the use of gossip, rumors or bashing each other. Thank you for your understanding regarding this important rule.
2) In character: please try to stay in character when your meter is in roleplay mode and pay attention to those around you and the environment. (ie. If you are a bad guy/girl, remember to roleplay that role.)
3) No member can be of royal blood unless approval of the Head of the Royal House is given to the applicant. Any use of a royal name, needs to be approved by the head of the Royal house, (examples: bastard of a stark)
4) We believe that metered combat is great for battles, duels and tournaments, but first and foremost, we are about roleplay. Try to roleplay your conflicts and if you both agree to do meter combat.
5) We require the use of the Unity Maxim HUD and Meter. It is useful even if you don't fight. It has many other role playing features, including a pouch, currency, gathering, crafting, stealing, and works with weapons and any bow.
6) Houses. One of the key thematic elements of GOT RP are its noble houses. We require nobles to be from the houses listed in approved Northern houses section of the application.
7) There are several groups related to Northern Westeros:
Northern Westeros GOT : Our main group for the sim. Notices are sent out pertaining to all updates, and sim events.
TheNorth Library group: which is optional to have, individuals can post their roleplays in this group for OOC purpose entertainment. No roleplay can be used in character from this group.
8) No book characters. You can be a Stark or a Greyjoy. You can be named Tyrion or Ned. But you cannot play Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell from the books/tv show.
9) Time line of The North is 600 YEARS before the existing show and books. REFER TO THE SECTION ON TIME LINE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
10) We ask all players that you post your RP limits in your profile. We are an adult sim and GOT roleplays can be violate where torture, rape, battles and such can take place. In addition, incest, sexual roleplay scenes, battles among members of houses, etc will occur.
LIMITS: There is 0 tolerance if an individual's limits are not respected. If this happens, proof must be given in a log format. NO IM's will be accepted unless all parties give permission for them to be copied.
11) We respect SL TOS we expect all members to follow the SL TOS at all times.
12) All avatars that come here must be adult, above the age of 18. NO avatar that looks child like will be accepted here at GOT, you need to acquire an avatar that looks adult. There is no negotiating this fact. This is base on Second Life TOS being we are an adult sim.
13) Animal Avatars: animals such as dogs, cats, wildlife will be approved on individual basis. Please refer the rules regarding animals. If you choose a cat, one must roleplay like a cat and not speak human nor understand what humans are saying, etc. Please keep your character as real as possible.
14) No gestures please, this can take away from the IC roleplay experience.
15) If you must go AFK, please do so away from any roleplay that is taking place. In addition, OOC mode, if you must be OOC and there is existing roleplay taking place. Please remove yourself from the area of the roleplay taking place. AFK or OOC greatly disturbs existing roleplay that is happening. Please be respectful and have courtesy to your fellow roleplayers.
16) No werewolves, bloodlines, furries are allowed on the sims. We do not recognize nor allow Bloodlines (BITING).
17) Visitors are not allowed to use the furniture or houses upon the sim unless they have applied and have become full members of the roleplay community. If a visitor is caught, they will be asked to stop, if they do not stop in five minutes time you will be ejected and banned from the sim.
